My Story

Being born and raised in Exeter, New Hampshire, I have been an outdoorsmen my entire life. Just 15 minutes from the beach and 2 hours from the White Mountains, anything anyone could want to do outdoors was at my fingertips. I learned to love to swim at the beach, skate on frozen lakes, hike up the mountains when it was warm, and ski down them when it was cold. I learned how to play lacrosse and soccer. I learned how to camp and fish. I learned how to mountain bike and trail run.

Along the way, I also learned about the challenges and problems the environment was facing. I learned about climate change, air and water pollution, and diminishing biodiversity. I learned about what and who was causing these problems and how nearly nothing was being done to create a positive change.

The more I learned about these issues, I realized why. Everyone was expecting someone else to be the one to step up - to be the person to lead and take initiative. Every teacher that taught me about these crises said it wold be on my generation to come up with a solution. I am sure someone had said the same to them.

While I learned about these topics, I also learned about accountability. Painted on the walls of my middle school and high school was the quote by Travis Manion, a former U.S. service member, that read, "If not me then who?".

Over time, I realized that not only did people need to step up, but that I wanted to be one of those people. I care a lot about the issue, and it affects everything about who I am and what I like to do. That's why I am determined to do everything I can to make a positive and impactful change.
