Skills

From all my extracurriculars, courses, jobs, and leadership roles, I've developed a handful of soft and hard skills. Below, you will find a few that I am particularly proud of that I believe could transfer over to a variety or jobs.

Microsoft Office

Word, Excel, PowerPoint - the three essential pillars of Microsoft Office. Throughout high school and college I've gained ample experience using all three of them. This is one of my more valuable hard skills seeing as nearly all jobs require you to be capable of using word processing, spreadsheet, and visual presentation software.

QGIS

QGIS, an acronym for Quantum Geographic Information System, is a free, open-source software that allows users to create, edit, visualize, analyze, and publish geospatial information. I have used this software to forecast the effects of rising sea levels, create election maps, and analyze income inequality in Los Angeles across different neighborhoods.

RStudio

RStudio is a newer software to me and the first coding software I have learned. I have used it for multiple classes to create predictive models with data sets. I have also used it for creating data visualizations such as scatter plots, histograms, box plots, and line graphs. This is a programming language software I could definitely see myself using in the future.

French (Intermediate)

I took my first French class in sixth grade for six weeks. It was a part of the sixth grade rotation-style curriculum where students try out courses in various languages and then pick one at the end to stick with. I ended up picking French because all my friends were, but I wish I had picked Spanish because I already knew a good amount of it. Since sixth grade, I have taken six years of French including one at UCLA.

Innovative

I have always considered myself to be an innovative person and one who is fascinated by innovation. I thrive in environments that encourage forward-thinking, taking risks, and continuous improvement. I have had the most opportunity to do this in my leadership roles as a lacrosse officer, now president, and as the recruitment chair of my fraternity as well as my job as a lacrosse coach.

Team Oriented

Team first. Always. If there's one thing I've learned working in various athletic, academic, and professional teams in my life it's that you're only going to go as far as your weakest link will allow for.
